“Peace is not unity in similarity but unity in diversity, in the comparison and conciliation of differences,” quoted by Mikhail Gorbachev amidst the cultural diversity onlooking the global aspect of today. Within the complexities of bicultural and multicultural countries like India itself; For diversity to bring strength, it should be valued in the current philosophy. More important, it must be integrated into practice. It takes time and a commitment to celebrate diversity.
The resulting kaleidoscope of perspectives, languages, and possibilities make the independence of a region an extraordinary culmination for discerning travellers to deepen and broaden their understanding of the world. The current world is more and more diverse both culturally and technologically. The consequences of globalization can be found in many spheres of everyday life.
As part of their ongoing efforts, IOBA organized a grand event, “Pacific Night,” to welcome the esteemed New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Nanaia Mahuta. The occasion was also graced by the presence of Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji, Prof Biman Prasad and Other High Commissioners, Hon. Consulates from other Embassies. The event was an amalgamation of diplomacy, camaraderie, and vibrant cultural performances, showcasing the rich heritage of the Pacific region. The highlight of the event was the mesmerizing display of cultural dance performances, which captivated the audience and showcased the rich tapestry of traditions and art forms from the Pacific region.
The presence of such a distinguished guest underscored the importance of fostering collaboration, dialogue, and understanding between nations. The event provided a unique opportunity for the minister to engage with Indian and Oceania business leaders, entrepreneurs, and cultural enthusiasts, further strengthening diplomatic ties between the two regions.
